Ayla’s 14th birthday: our pilot was a success!
Ayla has been living with Crohn’s disease her whole life. GI specialists and pediatricians report that her Crohn’s is managed, despite her being chronically ill for over a year. Subsequent specialists discharge her as they express their relief, leaving us feeling downright confused, and at times hopeless. When this happens, no one feels good, hopeful, or productive. This is an unsettling and unproductive state of mind. Many people have expressed their desire to help Ayla, to help us. So often we did not know how to receive offers because we’re too overwhelmed to make sense of anything.
